Art Studio

The goals of our studio is to increase self-awareness, experience free expressions and to improve communication skills. Within the empathic and non-judgmental environments, with the support of a licensed Art Therapist, participants will express their emotions and thoughts in non-verbal forms. The process is to increase clarity, insights, improving self-esteem, and boosting their self-reliance.
Carl Rogers developed his theory based on his work and claimed that we have a remarkable capacity for self-healing and personal growth leading towards self-actualization.
The therapeutic process can also involve a more humanistic (person-centered) approach, where your art therapist merely guides your journey of self-discovery and supports you in finding the answers you’ve been seeking. After all, you’re the expert on your own life. Essentially, client centered session doesn’t particularly aim to solve specific problems or relieve symptoms, but to help the client get rid of the idea or feeling that they are being influenced by external factors beyond their control.
Rogers believed that no other person’s ideas could be as valid as one’s individual experience, and that exploring these experiences in a supportive environment is necessary in order to achieve a positive therapeutic experience.
Art therapy requires the client to actively take the reins during each session, while the facilitator acts mainly as a guide or a source of support for the client. At Crescent, we provide a safe, empathic, non-judgmental and supportive environment for the clients to process.
Jungian therapy focuses more on the source of a problem than on its manifestations or symptoms. In short, Jung believed that the shadow, an individual’s repressed experiences and memories, in combination with the “collective unconscious,” or the inherent hidden beliefs that everyone in a given society at a given time has, result in an imbalance between conscious awareness and the unconscious mind that has a detrimental effect on one’s emotional life.
Jungian therapy tends to be most effective for people interested in self-exploration and personal growth.
If you are dealing with unresolved emotional issues or psychological problems, Jungian therapy may be able to help you address and resolve them. However, it is important to note that Jungian therapy is not a cure-all; it is only one tool that one can use to delve into your psyche and heal what needs healing.
“This type of psychotherapy is known as client-centered therapy, and it focuses on maximizing your ability to find your own solutions with the right amount of support. “
Crescent offers Art Therapy is based on Jung's theory, but Art therapist is not a Jungian therapist nor clinical psychologist. If you are seeking a professional mental health support, a counselor or a therapist, I would be happy to give some referrals.
